With a background in art and design I particularly relish the opportunity to push the boundaries of the medium, exploring the interaction of light, colour, line. shape and texture, to create exciting, unique works of stained glass art.
As with commissioning a traditional window, the process of ordering a contemporary design is a step-by-step approach, involving client and artist, to come up with a design that fulfills any brief the customer may have and one that satisfies their needs and desires and fits the intended purpose.
The starting point may be a much-loved location, favourite pet, animal or bird or maybe an image one has seen; maybe a hobby or pastime. Maybe the overriding need is to create a mood or ambience through the use of certain colours or maybe just the need for privacy. Whatever the catalyst we will work closely together to create a stained glass artwork, unique to you, that will give you pleasure for years to come.
With a variety of techniques at our disposal: painting, staining, acid-etching, leading, fusing etc. the possibilities are virtually as limitless as the imagination and, as always, the work is carried out to a very high standard and with great care over its suitability to the location.
